Artist Statement

The theme of my recent works is to project the aspect of the fluid movement of groups of little beings into human life which is part of nature, to perceive the essential order of nature and raise the problem of the inherent philosophy of life.

The collective movement of little beings mostly takes vertical or horizontal forms, but its depth and dynamic are the most noticeable in the spiral form. I experimented with different aspects of media to overcome the limitations from the plane works. During this process, I found that the lenticular material is the most suitable visible medium for grasping the three-dimensional effect with which countless elements within the works move along the eyes of viewers. This method is by far the most appropriate method to effectively express the desirable themes.

My recent paintings combine the interesting and fascinating characteristics with the lenticular spectacle that allows the viewers to perceive a plane in a three-dimensional sense to create a synergy effect, providing the audience with a special experience as well as delivering the theme.

The feathers and butterflies contains a metaphor and a desire to blow on the weight of human's mental anguish lightly as a feather from the psychological urge of freeing oneself from restraints. The shape of the spiral in the work was applied to add depth to reproduce the process of extricating anguish from deep inside

The essence of all my works basically has the characteristics of a painting, and I recreate the ones suitable for maximizing the visible effects.I effectively expressed the central factor for delivering the theme by enabling the audience to experience the three-dimensional sense through the introduction of the lenticular medium in painting.In addition, I am designing a work that is touching but not devoid of the distinctive features of a painting, and for which the basic concept of a painting is realized in a video.

In this time of fear, anxiety, and instability, the artists, through their works, should console people, purify their emotions, and offer people the hopeful messages that the world is still worth living. I want to add a small role as a good work.
